Hello world, and suchlike.  This should count as the first real post, rather than the invective filled, and quite frankly rather vitriolic, test post, which I have decided to leave in place for purposes of honesty, as well as to teach myself to proofread before I post, even test post, on this blog.

Shame is a powerful motivating tool.

Jenny has more or less finished the blog layout/installation, which is shiny and new and highly functional, though a few small graphical tweaks may occur in the near future. I have a beautiful new laptop with which to write, namely a Toshiba Satellite A355-S6935, which is an exact clone of the roommate’s slightly older machine.  It works very well overall, though the wifi in this apartment needs a bit of work; next month I’m going to upgrade to 802.11n or a, depending on my mood.  I think the downstairs neighbors have an overpowered G router that is knocking us offline periodically, so I may up the ante with a dualband N router and perhaps a signal boosting access point.

You know, to be neighborly.

That’s about it for now.   I guess I can consider this place open for business.

This is partially a test post; the graphical design of this site isn’t finished yet, as my graphics guru is in West Virginia dodging the delightful hillbillies and hilljacks (Is there a difference? I don’t know..)
